What this institute is and is not
Founded in 2029, prematurely. The institute is fictional. The research, citations, software, and consequences are not.
Clarity here buys freedom everywhere else. The notice is the price of the paradox.
- A speculative research fiction about productive wrongness and non-monotonic cognition.
- A publishing surface for notes, instruments, and fellowship applications.
- A diegetic prototype: functional enough to use, fictional enough to argue with.
- An accredited university, lab, or degree programme.
- A product pitch for an AI assistant that agrees with you.
- Peer-reviewed science — nothing here has been, and two things have been peer rejected.
How to read a page
Every substantial public item carries one or more epistemic labels. Hover a chip for the definition.
- Supported by cited research or a directly inspectable source.
- A reasoned interpretation of evidence; plausible, not established fact.
- A deliberately sharp claim designed to generate thought or disagreement.
- Institutional world-building, invented metrics, future dates, residents, or narrative apparatus.
- A live issue for which the institute does not claim a settled answer.
- An interactive or editorial experiment whose behaviour should not be mistaken for measurement or diagnosis.
- A practical framework, protocol, or field guide for doing the work — not a claim about the world.
This is an editorial and software project, not a funded research institution with disclosed endowments. When real sponsorship appears, it will be listed here without inventing patrons for atmosphere.

Retained contradictions
Inconsistencies we keep on purpose. An institute with a wrongness ledger that hides its own contradictions is performing.
We claim forty-four notes while publishing a curated slice and withdrawing the rest.
Defence · A number issued is not a number cleared. The gaps are content.
Bench 7 sessions and Wrongness Ledger entries share a family resemblance and refuse to share a count.
Defence · Sessions are attempts. Entries are what survived long enough to be indexed. Different clocks.
Door errors are both a three-year total and a quarterly yield, and the quarterly figure is smaller.
Defence · Yield decays. We report both so nobody mistakes a lifetime count for a rate.
Nine humans and fourteen systems inhabit the institute; the index shows five names.
Defence · Five consent to attribution. The rest are listed on /people, including the ones who refuse the page.
Note 07 was rejected twice and cited more than everything else we have published.
Defence · Rejection and citation are not opposites. Reviewer 2 still cannot recommend acceptance.
